My name is Katherine. I live in Sydney, Australia with my Irish husband and three beautiful kids – aged 6, 4 and 1. Yes, life is busy, but I am determined to feed my family real, healthy food – and not break the bank while doing it!
I have always loved to cook, and my passion for whole foods came about after I lost a lot of weight after my first child was born. I realised how much better I felt when I ate well, and I wanted my family to benefit from that. I wanted my kids to grow up knowing that real food doesn’t come from packets and that healthy eating doesn’t have to be difficult.
After years of friends asking “how do you do it?” and requesting recipes and meal plans, I decided to create Fresh Fast & Frugal to help others see that providing your family with a week of real food that is good for them doesn’t have to cost you the earth, all your spare time or your sanity!
Note: I am not a nutritionist or dietitian. What I am is a mum who is passionate about feeding her family nutritious, delicious foods that are time- and budget-friendly. I am fortunate that no-one in my family suffers from allergies or food intolerances (apart from typical 6-year-old fussiness!). As such, I cannot advise you on particular dietary requirements for these conditions. Where possible, I suggest alternatives to some common allergens which may be present in my recipes, but if you or your family members require further advice, I suggest seeing an Accredited Practising Dietitian or Nutritionist who can support you to develop meals to address those needs.
